Aspiring Author Article

Your procrastination has your book unfinished and unpublished. Around 80% of people who start writing a book never finish it. That means for every 1,000 writers who start writing a book, only 200 of them will actually complete it. Are you one of the 800?

Many aspiring authors procrastinate on their book writing journey because they do not make it a priority. They write sporadically instead of scheduling their writing time. Having a consistent writing schedule not only creates discipline but it gets you closer to completing your book. It is also evidence of how seriously you take your own writing.

Another reason aspiring authors procrastinate in finishing their book, they don’t set a completion date. There is no goal to work towards. They often say, “Whenever I get it done is fine with me.” That’s ludicrous! Your book will never get done with that type of thinking. How do I know? How long have you been talking about the same book and it’s still not done? We can’t be afraid to set a date. Give yourself something to measure. If it can’t be measured, then it won’t get done.

Lastly, aspiring authors are afraid to tell their stories. They allow doubt and what others will think to hinder their progress. They get on fire for a moment and then let it easily be blown out causing them to procrastinate. You have a right to tell your story. It’s your life! You can always change the names of people and physical locations. Your story may be the answer to someone else’s life. People will always be mad about something and try to stop your greatness. You have to be bold and determined to follow your own dreams of publishing a book.

Stop allowing your procrastination to keep your book unfinished and unpublished. Talking about the same book for the last few years is not going to get the book in your hands. Procrastination is robbing more aspiring authors of book royalties. It’s imperative you make a decision to take action today! It’s time for you to Get Your Write On with Relentless!
